The Famous Hau’ula Tomatoes flood devastation was face to face with volunteers
Uncle Terry comes from generations of farming. His business provides the tasty famouse “Hau’ula Tomatoes” you hear about in many resturants across the islands. The flood destroyed 3 months of work which was devastating to thier business and other businesses counting on them. There was mud everywhere! His tomato patches were ruined due to the excessive mud from the heavy rainfall. The expesnive lava rock pebbles were covered with mud. Our task was to remove all the mud while trying to keep the rocks.
SERVING ON SECOND SATURDAYS
Our team was able to do 3 weeks worth of work in one day because of all the awesome volunteers. Uncle Terry was so grateful for our help in getting his farm back in business. Thanks to Garrett with The Refuge Church Kooluloa for letting us know this farm needed help! Helping local businesses is essential to the economy of Hawaii. Hau’ula Tomato Farm provides jobs and produce for our local communities. It was a joy to get Uncle Terry back on track.
