This family was grateful.
Not only was their house flooded, but cars were moved to other locations because of the high waters. Getting them cleaned up and back on track was a big task. Thanks to the community of voulenters wer were able to tackle the project with speed. Danny Angel with North Shore Christian Fellowship help spear head this project.
Our friends at River Of Life brought in meals for our hard working volunters. It was such a blessing to team up with Paul Gates and his team!
One Love Ministries sent over members as well and it made the work lighter.
How to Help Flood Victims In Hawaii
Hawaii is a tropical paradise, but the state is also prone to natural disasters such as floods. Heavy rainfall can cause flash floods, which can damage homes, businesses, and infrastructure. When floods strike, it’s important to come together as a community to help those affected. Here are some ways to help victims of a flood in Hawaii:
- Donate money: One of the most effective ways to help is to donate money to a reputable organization that is providing aid to flood victims. There are many on this island that are good options, they have experience responding to disasters and are currently providing relief to those affected by flooding in Hawaii.
- Volunteer your time: If you are able, consider volunteering with an organization that is providing aid to flood victims. This can include distributing supplies, helping with clean-up efforts, or providing emotional support to those affected.
- Donate supplies: Flood victims may need supplies such as food, water, clothing, and toiletries. Consider donating these items to a local charity or organization that is providing aid to those affected.
- Provide temporary housing: If you have extra space in your home, consider opening it up to flood victims who may have been displaced from their homes.
- Spread the word: Use social media or other means to spread the word about how people can help flood victims in Hawaii. This can include sharing information about donation drives or volunteering opportunities.
It’s important to remember that recovering from a flood can be a long and difficult process. Even after the floodwaters recede, many people will need ongoing support to rebuild their homes and their lives. By coming together as a community and providing support to those in need, we can help make the recovery process a little bit easier for everyone involved.
